Saturday, June 21st at 4:00 pm – All VBS Volunteers will gather for training and a meal
Background checks will be completed on all volunteers.
VBS Volunteer Positions
SECURITY: Outside or inside position, requires earlier arrival time, and staying until everyone is gone. You will assist in parking, direct families where to go, monitor parking lots, buildings, patrolling both inside and outside and keeping volunteers and those in attendance safe.
REGISTRATION: You will be outside and will need to be at the church by 5:15 each night. You will help parents complete forms, hand out name tags, t-shirts, help with directions, and get children to their leaders.
KITCHEN/FOOD: You will need to arrive early, and will be responsible for serving all the kids, adults, cooking, and cleaning up after meals for each night. (We will now serve the meal to everyone at once) No longer on a rotation.
NURSERY: You will be taking care of any of our VBS volunteer’s children that are 2 and under.
PRESCHOOL LEADER: You will be with the preschoolers throughout the entire VBS, they will go to different sessions- crafts, recreation, worship, and dinner. Preschool leaders will also teach the bible and missions class to the preschoolers. You must be good with smaller children.
CLASS LEADER: You will be a leader and supervising a group of children. Specific groups will be Kindergarten & 1st grade, 2nd & 3rd grade boys and girls, and 4th & 5th grade boys and girls. You will lead and chaperone your group to each session and stay with them the whole time.
YOUTH LEADER: You will be a leader and supervising the youth aged children. You will be responsible for their bible and mission lessons. They will attend worship, crafts, recreation, and dinner in sessions.
BIBLE LEADER: You will teach the bible lesson to all ages Kindergarten-5th grade.
MISSIONS LEADER: You will teach the mission lesson to all ages Kindergarten-5th grade.
CRAFTS LEADER: You will be responsible for crafts for all ages.
RECREATION LEADER: You will be responsible for organizing and playing games with all ages. This is an outside position and it is extremely hot in June.
OPENING & CLOSING: You will help with opening and closing ceremonies every night, this can consist of a skit, speaking on stage, etc. This gets the children pumped and ready to go for VBS each night.

CAN’T HELP THE WEEK OF: We need a lot of decorations made and there is a lot of decorating to do. Just let me know and I’ll show you some ideas.
